mircean
sm * Certain part of seaweed called “badderlocks” (alaria esculenta). It consists of the kind of leaf-like growths, called “earball-sàile” from their bitter or salt taste. On each side of the mircean is the “rùsg” or peel and between it and the short bare stem (close to the rock) called “cas dhubh,” are the “duilleach,” several short leaves or sprouts.
