acainn-spreadhaich
(DMK) sf Piece of bright lead having several large hooks attached to it. It is thrown among a shoal of fish which its brightness attracts, and it is hauled in smartly, often with a fish impaled on each hook. It is also called a 'fishing-devil' and a 'destroyer'. West coast of Ross-shire.
